Meet our neighbours
Mandy Corbett
Keeper, Americas – Toronto Zoo
Mandy has always had a love for animals and knew from a young age that she wanted to be involved in wildlife conservation. Mandy attended the University of Guelph for Wildlife Biology and has worked at your Toronto Zoo since 2018, where she is now a Keeper in the Americas Pavilion.
Susan Eberth
Keeper, African Rainforest Pavilion – Toronto Zoo
Susan first found her love of gorillas after visiting them as a child on zoo trips. She took that love and has made many journeys to Africa to work with gorillas, helping grass root organizations in the field. Later on, Susan pursued a degree in Zoo Technology and began working as a Keeper at your Toronto Zoo in 2008 where she now works in the African Rainforest Pavilion with the Western lowland gorilla troop!
Angie Snowie
Keeper, Indo-Malaya – Toronto Zoo
Angie began working with animals in 1991, training dolphins and sea lions which took her on travels throughout Canada, the US, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic, before starting with your Toronto Zoo in 2004 where she is now a Keeper in the Indo-Malaya region. Angie really found her bliss in 2010 when she began working with greater one-horned rhinos, Asha and Vishnu, which helped shape her into the strong wildlife advocate she is today!
Brent Huffman
Lead Keeper of Mammals – Toronto Zoo
Brent has always been fascinated by the diversity of animals, and has a particular love of ungulates, or hoofed mammals. After attending the University of Guelph for Zoology, he became a Keeper at your Toronto Zoo in 2004, working in many areas (including the African Savanna, Eurasia, Australasia, and giant pandas) before becoming the Lead Keeper of Mammals in 2019.
Western Lowland Gorilla family
Come along with CAA and your Toronto Zoo for an up-close look at the Zoo's Western lowland gorilla troop. Learn about how silverback Charles cares for Ngozi, Johari, Nneka and Charlie. Plus, learn more about how the Zoo supports the conservation of this critically endangered species through programs like PhoneApes and the Western Lowland Gorilla Species Survival Plan®.
Greater One-horned Rhinos
Did you know that your Toronto Zoo is home to two different species of rhino? CAA and your Toronto Zoo are giving you an up-close look at the vulnerable greater one-horned rhino species through our rhino ambassadors, Ashakiran (affectionately known to her keepers as “Asha”) and her son Kiran, who was born at your Toronto Zoo in January 2018 as part of the Greater One-horned Rhino Species Survival Plan®.
